Anton Balakchiev (Born in 1978) was born in Sofia. He’s a freelance photographer who started shooting more than 10 years ago when he found a small digital camera, Casio Exilim EX-S3, on the street. In the years that followed, he got to use various Canon cameras and lenses to suit the demand of his clients and the demand of his improving photographic skills. Currently, he’s using Canon EOS 5D Mk III with 100-400/4.5-5.6 L IS and 24-105/4 L IS lenses. Balakchiev also has an airband scanner, Uniden UBC30XLT, which is very useful when he’s shooting aviation photos. The photographer has been actively uploading his photographs on the Internet for more than a decade. He’s uploading aviation photography images online at two websites. He became one of the screeners and also a crew member at BGspotters. His pictures have been published in "Today's Pilot" magazine, "Krile" magazine, and some of the most popular daily newspapers in Bulgaria.

Since its foundation in 2008, he’s been actively in cooperation with "AERO" magazine's crew. Balakchiev cofounded the Bulgarian Aviation Society - a society which unites aviation enthusiasts and photographers. As part of my activities within BAS, he actively participated in the organization of many photographic exhibitions where his art prominently stood out. He’s the Jazz Plus Festival’s official photographer which gives him the opportunity to photograph a wide range of famous musicians in the world. He’s the operative manager of an online store where they provide video and live streaming services. Balakchiev is represented by Stocktrek Images.
