Award-winning graphic illustrator and fine artist Caplyn Dor has participated in many national and international art shows. The New York State Council on the Arts awarded her a creative artist fellowship. Through this award, Caplyn was able to have a daughter and father art show which she says she will treasure forever. Her work has adorned the covers of The Salamander Review, ReVisions Magazine, TFTN - The Fractal Translight Newsletter, and many other related publications. She loved art from a tender age because grew up in an artistic family, which exposed him to artwork and therefore greatly contributed to forming the foundation for her becoming a successful artist. As a child, Caplyn often used to go fishing with her father and when they returned, she watched him paint engaging and beautiful country scenes from memory.

She would often look at the art books of her father for hours as well as his many schematics that were highly-detailed, and which involved engineering designs for his electrical engineering profession. Her father also painted many portraits of the love of his wife, Caplyn’s mother. Caplyn has illustrated two children's books, and is included in the Who's Who of American Women and Life Lessons. She also watched her mother create beautiful figurines – her mother was a gifted ceramist, and Caplyn was overjoyed when her mother allowed her to help her paint some of the beautiful flowers and ceramic pixies that she had crafted. Caplyn tends to see beauty everywhere, and she uses her attention to minute detail and observations to create a feel of happiness and to bring her viewer to a serene and very pleasant place.
