Margaret Morrissey was born in Ireland where she also grew up. She’s and artist and photographer who’s greatly inspired by the beautiful coast of her motherland. She also travels to other locations throughout the world to get more inspiration and to make her very recognizable photographs. She counts herself lucky to live beside the sea, where the ocean provides her with an ever-changing and endless source of inspiration. Her minimalist, calming style images successfully blend her love of photography and painting, and form part of art collections worldwide. Margaret has held quite a number of exhibitions in Dublin, where she’s currently based. Margaret’s love of the coast is reflected in her photographs where scenes from the edge of the sea are often seen. Photographing mainly at sunrise, her images fondly capture that unique feeling of serenity and stillness that is evident at the start of each new day.
Many confess that her works are celebratory ad often respond to the beauty on this earth and human’s connection to it. She loves pattern, light, and color and this has led her to develop a painting technique that’s quite unique hence making her art to be very attractive. She believes that everyone is creative, and that creativity is a priceless means to respond to the world that we live in and is also a means through which we can express ourselves. Her aim is to encourage as many people as possible to take time to look at the beauty that nature provides so that they may fall in love with the world around them.
