Teton Parchment was born in Missoula, Montana. She has lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, California and Santa Barbara and now happily lives in Etna, Wyoming with two dogs and her husband, Jack. Her visual art process more often than not begins with a peaceful morning walk in the botanic gardens, woods, or mountains. Teton enjoys creating photographic images because these are what allow her to freeze the designs of the Creator. She finds that simplicity often reveals more so her photographs contain minimal subject matter. The photographer is noted for her exceptional ability to capture the expressions and movements of her subjects. This talent has brought her artwork a worldwide following and earned her private commissions to do prints. While growing up, she was surrounded by beautiful people, and she could be found in various states of emotion ranging from isolation to adoration.

All these influenced her art, especially the choice of subject matter. As part of the Noturnes exhibit, Teton has shown her work in Victor, Idaho at the Graffenberg Gallery. She has received numerous awards including the Wyoming Wildlife Magazine photo contest (she received first place) in 2012 and the Colorado Balloon Classic photo contest (she received the grand prize) in 2002. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography. The institute is in Santa Barbara, California. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs. She’s a member of several art societies and organizations.
