Markus Haub studied Transportation Design in Pforzheim at the University of Applied Arts. He was born in Germany and then he moved to Spain to work for Renault and Volkswagen in their Design studios. While working, he also developed as an artist his own working technique. Haub moved to Paris in 2004 and took two years there. He is now living again in Barcelona, where he works as an artist and designer. He shows his work at art fairs and in exhibitions in France, Spain, Ireland, Holland, New York and England. He’s considered to be the most innovative painter of classic cars working in Europe today. Haub is both a fully fledged member of the cyber-generation and a highly skilled traditional artist, and his creative progress has gone hand in hand with the growth of the digital age.

He has been commissioned by Mercedes Benz to create an image to celebrate the fact that they had reached ten million fans on Facebook. His inspiration comes from the city-views on New York, Paris, Tokyo and Barcelona. He’s also inspired by classic cars, which he sees on racing events all over Europe. He started the series titled “Racing Legends“in 2008 which is mainly about racing cars from the sixties and seventies. He has attended classic car rallies, races and events all over Europe including Le Mans in France, Goodwood in England, and Nürburgring in Germany. Wherever he goes he takes his sketchbook and camera and believes that context is as important as the subject.
