Kendra Baird interest in art began as a child. However, it wasn’t until he served as a missionary from 2009 to 2010 that she realized her full calling and desire to paint. The calling and desire is not only to paint, but to create works of art that God inspires and that speak the hope of Jesus Christ. After giving some paintings she created while overseas to her hosts, she saw the amazing impact a piece of artwork could have on the life of someone. How simply by someone seeing a piece of her work, she could speak 1000 words of love and encouragement to the person who sees it without saying even a single word. In July of 2010, she returned home, and she made steps to become a full-time painter, within the comfort of her home and of knowing that God would provide for her along the way.
Kendra has now been painting full time since 2011 and it never stops to amaze her that she’s actually making a living at this and continuing to speak to people through her artwork. Kendra creates visual statements of how and what she dreams, comprising scenes that are rooted in reality but not quite realistic. Her art is inspired by interactions and relationships with herself, other people, her faith and nature. She portrays a range of emotions through by using a variety of subject matter. She studied at the Savannah College of Art & Design, where she majored in graphic design with a minor in drawing.
