Elissa Gore (born 1950) is an American artist who currently lives in New York City but was originally from Philadelphia. She has developed her own unique style using acrylic paints. She also uses a range of techniques and mediums that create harmonious, fresh looks. Her works can be found in several institutions and in thousands of private and corporate collections all over the world. Having a talent in arts made her learning curve much shorter than her colleagues, and after studying at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Art, she began to bring to life images that combine the world of art and the passion for nature. She taught college fine art for 20 years and is currently teaching landscape painting at the New York Botanical Garden.

In 1975, she decided she wanted to make art about nature. She first made drawings and sculptures of human anatomy and plants and later discovered the feeling she wanted to express in art could be best expressed by using paintings of the landscape. Elissa aims to capture the transcendence of natural phenomena in her luminous landscape paintings, including sparkling streams, mist evaporating over hills, sunlight setting foliage aflame, and many more. She tries to surround the viewer with a panoramic view or atmosphere that reflects the transcendent moment she feels. She responds especially to places that include water, earth and air. Her works on canvas and paper are inspired by experiences on her travels to paint on location and to art residencies.
