Gretchen Huber Warren Wall Art

Gretchen Huber Warren (Born 1963) was born in Hartford, Connecticut. She’s known for being an illustrator, mainly of desert landscape. Gretchen graduated from Syracuse University in 1985 in the College of Visual and Performance Arts. She pursued an illustrator’s career creating freelance illustrations and book covers for "Readers Digest" and others. Many of Gretchen’s paintings are landscapes of the High Sonoran Desert, with their proliferation of Saguaro, Opuntia, Teddy Bear cacti and Barrel. She strives to capture the unique quality of these cacti in the golden light of the low sun in their forbidding needles and spines. Her work is intended to convey beauty with light effects, vibrant colors, and crisp clarity of form and line to show real time and place. She works in oil on canvas. Genre is another of her subjects, and Gretchen creates paintings of mid 20th-century filling stations, American Hotels, the modern marketplace and store fronts scenes.

She won the Arts for the Parks National Juried Show in 2000, and in 2002, she was the featured artist in the Artist's Magazine in their September issue. She was also the featured artist in Frontier Magazine in their March 2003 issue. In 2004, she held a one woman show at the Copley Society of Boston. Gretchen has been creating and selling fine art in several mediums for more than 10 years. Her work in oil on canvas shows the results of her ability to tell a story and her eye for beauty. Since 1986, the artist has sold more than 500 non-commissioned and commissioned works to corporations and collectors from Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
