Leonard Morris (Born in 1932) was born in Jamaica, West Indies. He has been exhibiting his works in one-man and group exhibition in churches, galleries, homes and offices in countries such as Puerto Rico, Canada, West Germany, the United States England, Cuba and Jamaica. He studied woodwork at Kingston Technical High School and is a graduate of the Jamaica School of Arts and Crafts and Knox College. Morris is listed in North America and Britain in the Directory of Caribbean Personalities, and "Who's Who in America in Black Art". In 1947, he sold his first painting to the British Consulate. He has been featured in many magazine articles, newspapers and on radio programs and television. He has appeared on the Channel 11-TV, and Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) TV station, and appeared on the following Radio Stations: WPAT, WNT, WWRL and WLIB. His works can be found in many prominent corporate and private collections. Morris loved art from a tender age.

In fact, at the age of only 14 years, he was able to do pencil sketches while at the Junior Center Library of the Institute of Jamaica, and he also read art many books. The director of the center recognized his talent and sent him to study painting, joining the Vera Cummings art class, alongside such artist as Corah Hamilton, Alexander Cooper, David Pottinger, Carl Abraham, Vernal Reuben, and Osmond Watson. At the age of 20, Morris won a scholarship to study graphic art, drawing and painting at the Jamaica School of Arts and Crafts. He studied there for 7 years under the likes of Karl Parboosingh, Ralph Campbell, Edna Manley and Hector Whistler.
