Gordon Barker (Born in 1960) is a fantastic painter whose engaging paintings are full of life and capture the moment of the mood so vividly. Barker is involved in a number of exhibitions, and has his work in many corporate and private collections all over the world. The artist has also recently written and illustrated a book. Advocate art illustration agency are thrilled to be representing him, because his work translates beautifully into posters, greeting cards, books and art for licensing. Barker was born in Gibraltar and he moved around the world when his father was serving in the army until the family settled in Northamptonshire when he was 12 years old. He recently moved to Torquay. His love of painting started early in his life and he was encouraged by his art teacher to go to art college but Barker chose to start work instead.
However, he did continue to paint, and even had a few exhibitions and went ahead to venture to London to sell his work. Barker is passionate about his creations and as soon as he finishes one, he already has an idea for his next work, never losing his desire to create another work of art. At the age of 23, he sold his first painting to a recording company in Milton Keynes. This excited him and gave him the confidence to promote his work to a wider market. Over the next few years he sold over 900 originals to companies like AT&T, The Gap, and MTV Europe, and also to many private collectors.
