Description:
Painted during a vacation at Talloires on the shores of this lake in Haute-Savoie in July 1896, this view is taken from the beach of Talloires, looking south across the water toward the Chateau de Duingt on the opposite bank. A large part of the canvas is dominated by a cool color range of blues and greens, but its principal focus is the castle with its tower bathed in the warm orange of an early morning sunshine.
