Danny Hahlbohm is a contemporary artist famous for his works based in spirituality and religion. This beach scene, “Wise and Foolish Builders” is one of his most popular works and a little different from the others in his portfolio. The image is of a beautiful day at the beach along a rocky cliff. On top of the cliff and on the very edge is a white beach house. The house appears strong and well built and able to withhold a storm. On the beach is an example of the opposite – a sandcastle built too close to the water and already starting to lose it’s foundation in the lapping waves.
The title of this piece, as well as the image portrayed, make one pause and think about the deeper meaning that the picture represents.
